Took a trip to Carlsbad Caverns today.
It really is incredible. Elevator ride down 750 ft to wander the pass through the caverns. I wasn't a big fan of the hour and twenty minute wait to get on an elevator to come back up...
We timed it just right, at 7:45 PM the Rangers started the bat talk. 5 seconds in his speech, all 400,000 of the bats decided to leave the cave. They're flying right over our heads. It was an incredible experience, and we all loved it. You could even smell the bats, not such a great smell. Lol
It was like somebody shooting a giant fire hose full of bats out of that cave, they just kept pouring out. It took over 20 minutes for them to exit the cave.
Unfortunately they make you turn off all electronic devices cuz it messes with the bats. So we got no pictures of them.
Can the road in the morning for Roswell, and Amarillo.
Ps. Discovered a ribbon of metal in my truck tire. I check lugs and tire pressure every day I tow. Noticed a slow leak in the tire two days in a row, did some poking around and found the piece of metal. Bought a can of Fix-A-Flat, and hopefully that will get me through to Walmart tire center in Amarillo tomorrow night.
